Drawing inspiration from a 20th-century New York City setting, "Only God Was Above Us" was recorded in various cities around the globe, from Manhattan to LA, London, and Japan, along with high-concept music videos filmed by Steven Siegel. The album has 10 tracks in 47-minute length, which includes the early fan-favorites, their prime lead singles “Capricorn” and “Gen-X Cops.”
