An incredible night of live music is awaiting you at the Starlight theater on Friday, July 17th, 2016 at 8:00pm with the doors opening at 6:30pm to take your seat at 7:00pm to take in the fantastic Jon Batiste Live: A Fantastical Musical Journey

The show is part of the 12 show tour across the US and will then cross the ocean for international performances in London, Barcelona and Rotterdam. This alfresco performance will go on rain or shine to bring to the audience, in attendance that night, the work of joy, community and boundary-breaking artistry of Jon Batiste.

Jon Batiste is a renowned performer that takes the audience on a fantastic musical journey of joy, community and boundary-breaking. His unique style has been showcased in his latest album release “BIG MONEY” (2025) and he performs other hits as well as “FREEDOM”, “I NEED YOU”, “Shine” and many more.

Jon Batiste is a multi award winning singer, songwriter, producer, director and television personality. In addition to 8 Grammy Awards including Album of the Year for “We Are” (2022) and Best Americana Album for “BIG MONEY” (2025), the New Orleans native won an Academy Award for Best Original Score for the 2020 Pixar film “Soul” (2020) as well as numerous Emmy Awards, a Golden Globe, a BAFTA and several NAACP Image Awards. 

Starlight theatre Information

Located at 4600 Starlight Rd, Kansas City, MO 64132. The venue is America’s longest-running and largest active outdoor theater; founded in 1950. There are several different sections of seating throughout the outdoor amphitheater where Jon Batiste will be performing including Orchestra, Terrace and Box seating areas with ADA accessible seating options included in most price levels. Starlight holds 7,739 people and each guest will have a great view from their seat of the performance.

Starlight allows each guest to bring one sealed 24oz water bottle per person or empty reusable plastic bottles (24oz or under). Starlight requests that guests dress up for the show in dressy, outdoor theater attire. Service animals are also welcome at the venue.

Parking Information

An abundance of free parking for this show is on a first-come, first-served basis. We do offer Premium Parking for sale for approximately $35 per car as well as reserved parking for people with disabilities that require mobility assistance. There is also plenty of street parking and lots throughout the Kansas City area for your use as well.
